THE DIECAST MAGAZINE (AU/NZ) – ISSUE #43
The Diecast Magazine...$14.96
The Diecast Magazine is recognised internationally as one of the highest quality publications about scaled resin models and diecast model cars in the world.
Issue 43 showcases Automodello’s 1/24 1937 Delage D8-120S Aerodynamic Coupe by Pourtout. Superbly recreated in resin, this chromed and curvy coupe is a work of art and a piece whose history would be appreciated as much as its visuals by many! Conrad celebrates its 60th anniversary and throws open the doors to the facility in Germany, and TDM is there to share the highlights of the day.
Australian collectors will admire the Looksmart 1/18 model race car of the 2014 Bathurst 12-Hour Winning Ferrari 458 Italia GT3. With the original driven by Craig Lowndes, John Bowe, Peter Edwards and Mika Salo, this model captures the thrill and excitement of the race as one to remember for any Bathurst 12-Hour enthusiast! Also featured within issue 43 of The Diecast Magazine is the resin model car of the 1955 Lincoln Futura Concept, produced in 1/18 scale by Minichamps. This jaw-dropping concept has plenty of design cues to the 1966 TV series Batmobile, and with just one look you can see why!
For an international flavour, issue 43 provides a splendid pictorial exposé of CMC’s 1/18 diecast model truck, the 1934-38 Mercedes-Benz LO2750 Race Car Transporter. A brilliant piece of Mercedes-Benz motor racing history, it is stunningly recreated as a 1/18 scale model car by the artisans at CMC. Well known European figurine manufacturer Le Mans Miniatures presents its 200mm resin figurine of the iconic Le Mans running driver start. Due to an unfortunate accident the practice has been abandoned, but this 200mm running Le Mans driver figurine certainly brings back memories and reminds us of a simpler time, though probably not the safest.
Diecast Surgery continues with some simple tips on how to clean and maintain your collection. AUTOart president Jimmy Yee provides an insight into the company’s endeavours in composite models, and Brisbane Model Diecast Collectors Club senior member Tim Braby shares his wonderful experience in respraying a 1/43 scale diecast model car of a 1936 Ford Humpback.
