Replicated from the 1967 Formula 1 Gran Prix victory at Spa-Francorchamps.

Dan Gurney is the only American to win a Formula 1 Grand Prix in an American car in the modern era (Jimmy Murphy won in a Duesenberg in 1921 before the establishment of the World Championship) and Gurney is the only US driver ever in the entire history of the sport to do this with a car built, designed and constructed by his own company All American Racers.

This mesmerising masterpiece will serve as a lasting tribute to the genius of Dan Gurney and All American Racers. The commitment of AAR, the passion and the dedication to accurate scale replication from the team of skilled artisans at Automodello. To allow it to be enjoyed and viewed from a 360-degree angle on a daily basis, free of dust or accidental damage, it will be packaged on a stylish plinth and supplied with a clear protective display cover.

Most manufacturers build a road car and then take it racing. American sports-racing pioneer Briggs Cunningham (manufacturer of America’s only sports car up until the Corvette) took a different road. He gained notoriety for cobbling together a motley array of parts into some unusual—sometimes downright monstrous—purpose-built racing machines in his attempt to win Le Mans. Not until later did he evolve his operation to include deliberately road-bound efforts. The 1952 Cunningham C-3 is of the latter category. Nominally an evolution of his C-1 and C-2 race cars, the C-3 was conceived as a dual-purpose street and track machine but was never actually raced. Designed as a coupe, a handful of beautiful cabriolets were added in 1953-54. The C-3, like its predecessors, relied on Chrysler’s mammoth—and powerful—331ci Hemi V-8. Tuned to produce 235hp and a mountain of Hemi torque in a cabriolet weighing around 2800 pounds, its performance had few rivals despite being backed by a column-shifted semi-automatic gearbox.

Although entirely American in provenance, C-3 had a somewhat more ‘Italian’ flavor than previous Cunninghams. Appropriate, given that the Giovanni Michelotti-designed aluminum coachwork was actually crafted and installed by Vignale in Turin, Italy on complete rolling chassis delivered from Cunningham’s West Palm Beach factory. It is unquestionably Cunningham’s most refined and elegant creation—the perfect choice for replication in scale by Automodello™. The model is patterned after the C-3 Cabriolet owned by Cunningham Family, a two-tone red with a tan interior. It is being released exclusively as a 154-piece Tribute Edition and 24-piece Homage Edition, with a hand-numbered certificate of authenticity endorsed and signed by the Cunningham Family.

This stunning Mediterranean blue is only one of the great things about this limited edition model.

This model is numbered 81 of 165 models produced worldwide.

The Tiger was just as ferocious in competition. Shelby campaigned it in SCCA Class B in 1964, and for 1965 factory support was thrown behind the Hollywood Sportscar team with driver Jim Adams. Adams won its class in its very first outing, and continued winning throughout 1965. Had it not been wrecked out of the season-ending race in Daytona, the Tiger likely would have won the Class B championship in 1965. Fans of the TV spy-comedy series “Get Smart” will fondly recognize a red Tiger as Maxwell Smart’s ride of choice in the opening credits.

So why not “Get Smart” and pick up this model today while you still can!
